Apple reportedly set to introduce USB 3.0 ports on upcoming iPad Pro

Apple is rumored to be working on a larger iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display, with production set to commence from September. According to the Wall Street Journal, the tablet will feature USB 3.0 ports to allow faster data transfer with external hard drives. The tablet is also said to feature ports to connect to external keyboards and mice.

Apple has continued to rework some of the features of the larger iPad. It is now considering the faster technology for data synchronization between the larger iPad and other computing devices.

Apple is now considering adding USB ports and adopting so-called USB 3.0 technology, a much faster version that promises to transfer data up to 10 times as rapidly as current USB ports, one of the people said.

The company has also been considering adding ports to connect to a keyboard and mouse, the people said.

The larger-sized iPad Pro will reportedly target professional users looking to get work done on the go. Wall Street Journal does state that the final design is not locked down yet, meaning that the aforementioned connectivity features may not make their way onto the retail version of the iPad Pro.
