Report: Amazon's Taking Square Head-On
9to5Mac has obtained some convincing evidence that Amazon's working on its own credit card swipers, aiming its sights at incumbent Square for payments-on-the-go. Because if you're not going to buy from Amazon, at the very least they can handle the money.

New photo shows faster Retina MacBook Pros with 16GB of RAM could be in the works
If you weren't satisfied with the rumors of a retina MacBook Air and a 4K desktop weren't enough for you, maybe the thought of faster Retina MacBook Pros with a standard 16GB of RAM will grab your attention. That's what a new image from Chinese forum Feng allegedly shows off, though it remains unverified by Apple.
- 2.2GHz Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost to 3.4GHz), 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics
- 2.5GHz Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost to 3.7GHz), 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics & NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M w/2GB DDR5 RAM
- 2.8GHz Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost to 4.0GHz), 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M w/2GB DDR5 RAM
All in all, that's only a minor bump in specs over what's available now in the Retina MacBook Pro line but if it turns out to be accurate, it's not unheard of for Apple to push out those minor updates.
In any case, we'll have to wait and see what happens because again, this all remains unverified and is likely to remain that way until Apple is good and ready to announce something.

Every day, millions of photos are taken around the world, and a good chunk of those are taken on an iPhone. It's no wonder why — the iPhone is super portable, has an amazing iSight camera and an incredibly easy to use Camera app. Combine that with the ability to share photos instantly via Twitter, Instagram and other social networks, and you have the perfect solution for capturing and publishing any moment imaginable. So, each week we're going to scour the social networks for uplifting, inspiring, touching, and all around amazing photos using #iphone #iphoneography #vscocam and similar hashtags and embed the best of what we find. And since iMore has an Instagram account now, if you really want to get our attention and get featured, use #imoregram to make sure we don't miss it. Enjoy!

Cable Snaps on 6O MPH Amusement Park Ride
This is the Skyhawk, a 10-story tall "Screamin' Swing" ride that flings its passengers round and round at up to 60 mph. It's the tallest of its kind, bringing its 40 passengers as high as 125 feet off the ground at the apex of a swing. It's scary enough on a normal day. Last night, one of its cables snapped.
