FDA cracks down on rogue CBD products touting unproven health claims
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is cracking down on a number of companies selling cannabidiol (CBD) products accompanied by unsubstantiated health claims. The latest target is a company called Curaleaf, which sells CBD products that it claims can treat everything from cancer and Alzheimer's, to anxiety and inflammation in dogs.

Satellite-connected tags keep more detailed tabs on tiger sharks for longer
A new electronic tag developed by ESA and other partners has been attached to four tiger sharks in the Caribbean in a test of a new satellite-connected fish tracking system. Described by the space agency as cheaper and more animal friendly, the new tags will help to monitor the sharks' migration patterns for years.

TESS completes survey of southern sky, marking halfway mark of mission
NASA's Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) is halfway through its two-year primary mission and has completed its survey of the southern sky in its search for extrasolar planets. According to the space agency, the unmanned telescope has discovered 21 confirmed exoplanets and 850 candidates for further study.
