Fates Forever brings multiplayer arena combat to the iPad
The Tournament has begun. Stop waiting for buildings to finish. That's how the description reads for this brand new game on the App Store called Fates Forever. It's a new take on the "freemium" games we've all come to know and despise, enabling players to engage in heated battles with one another. Fates Forever brings the popular MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) scene to iPads.
Choosing from one of eight heroes to join in the real-time combat with other team players, combatants are tasked with destroying towers, capturing shrines, casting spells and claiming victory. The neat part about the experience is how there are no waiting times and no speed ups requiring real money investments like other freemium games out there. If you're a fan of DOTA 2 and League of Legends then you'll want to try Fate Forever.
The art design and music is from the artists behind Borderlands, Doom 3 and Mass Effect. You know you're in for an immersive ride. Much like other games available on the market, it's possible to customize heroes with 30 items and 12 relics to suit your play style. Not only that, combined with the gameplay itself, but the developer has promised a steady stream of updates with new heroes, items and game features.

We'd rather electrocute ourselves than be alone with our thoughts, study finds
The experiment was simple. All the participants had to do was enter an empty room, sit down, and think for six to 15 minutes. But without a cellphone, a book, or a television screen to stare at, the assignment quickly became too much to handle. In fact, even when individuals were given time to "prepare" for being alone — meaning that they were able to plan what they would think about during their moments of solitude — the participants still "found it hard," Timothy Wilson, a psychologist at the University of Virginia and lead author of the study, told The Washington Post . "People didn’t like it much."

Corneas regrown using human stem cells
Medical researchers working with human stem cells have discovered a way to improve regrowth of corneal tissue in the human eye. Using a molecule known as ABCB5 to act as an identifying marker for rare limbal stem cells, the researchers were able to use antibodies to detect ABCB5 on stem cells in tissue from donated human eyes and use them to regrow anatomically correct, fully functional human corneas in mice...
