Monument Valley's first new levels arrive with latest update





As announced last week, puzzle game Monument Valley has received its first set of new levels with the expansion Forgotten Shores. The eight new levels, referred to in-game as Appendices, can be added to the game with an in-app purchase of $1.99.


Starting with The Chasm, levels take Ida to new environments, with new kinds of puzzles and challenges to overcome. Forgotten Shores stands apart from the original game, with Monument Valley presenting players with a choice of either entering the original ten levels, or exploring the new ones.


You can play Forgotten Shores as part of Monument Valley's 2.0 update, available on the App Store right now.

Microsoft patches critical bug that affects every Windows version since 95


Microsoft has patched a critical flaw in Windows that has existed in every version since the introduction of Windows 95 more than 19 years ago. IBM security researchers discovered the flaw earlier this year and notified the software giant privately in May. The rare bug allows attackers to remotely execute code on an affected system just by convincing Windows users to visit a URL in Internet Explorer. IBM says the exploit can be triggered on Internet Explorer 3.0 onwards, and every currently supported version of Windows is affected.
