Undone: los complejos caminos de la realidad y la existencia más allá de la vida cotidiana

Undone (2019) es una miniserie de Raphael Bob-Waksberg y Kate Purdy, calificada como thriller psicológico que se ve en un plis-plás (8 episodios de 25 minutos), tiene una gran historia y toca un montón de temas interesantes: las consciencia, la existencia y las reglas del espacio y el tiempo. Quizá lo de menos sea lo más llamativo, que es una serie de animación rotoscópica, a lo A Scanner Darkly (2006). La actuación de Rosa Salazar es estupenda, a lo que ayuda un guión muy trabajado en cada frase, con intrincadas conexiones que se van descubriendo a medida que avanza la historia.

[Sin spoilers a partir de aquí, más allá del tráiler. Aunque si no lo ves, casi mejor.]

Aunque la historia puede ser más o menos cotidiana –al menos el primer episodio– pronto los sucesos se empiezan a enredar y las historias de los personajes, especialmente de la protagonista, empiezan a desparramarse entre sueños, paranoias, realidades alternativas, tiempo no lineal… La serie plantea muchas preguntas que pueden ser consideradas o bien «profundamente interesantes» o bien «filosofía de baratillo», por lo que seguramente acabe satisfaciendo a todo el mundo. ¿Puede saber una loca que está loca? ¿Es la realidad la misma para todos? ¿Hay fuerzas y poderes que no conoce la ciencia?

Undone podría haber sido perfectamente un largometraje, pero el formato miniserie la hace más digerible. Tiene tantas cosas que resultan familiares de otras películas y series que deja una sensación de déjà vu agradable, aunque aporte muchas cosas propias. Supongo que lo de la rotoscopia habrá abaratado su producción y dado un carisma especial especialmente apropiado para los temas que trata, porque quizá con «imagen real» se hubiera estropeado el resultado. Gran serie para desconectar unas horas de la realidad.

Elon Musk aims to put SpaceX’s Starship in orbit in six months

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk would like his Starship spacecraft to make it to orbit in six months, he said during an evening presentation on September 28. The event seemed aimed squarely at fans, with little new information and a lot of SpaceX history.

“This is going to sound totally nuts, but I think we want to try to reach orbit in less than six months,” Musk said. “Provided the rate of design improvement and manufacturing improvement continues to be exponential, I think that is accurate to within a few months.”
