Pixelmator Pro is really making itself at home on the Mac.
Pixelmator Pro is out with a major update that adds support for AppleScript on the Mac, enabling all kinds of automation for the app.
As detailed by Pixelmator, the new support for Applescript will enable features like the following:
• Over 60 application-specific commands together with all the standard AppleScript terms. • Automation-specific commands like 'detect face', 'detect QR code' and 'replace text' for creating powerful and versatile scripts. • Full support for scripting ML actions powered by Core ML (like ML Super Resolution, ML Enhance, ML Denoise, and more)
Andrius Gailiunas from the Pixelmator team says that the company worked with Sal Soghoian, who was the Product Manager of AppleScript at Apple, in order to bring automation with Pixelmator Pro to life.
"For this update, we also worked together with Sal Soghoian, the legendary user automation guru, who served for over 20 years as the Product Manager of Automation Technologies, including AppleScript and Automator, among others. He really helped us with our scripting dictionary and guided us in our quest to make AS support as powerful and full-featured as possible!"
Soghoian says that the addition of AppleScript support for the Pixelmator Pro app on the Mac is a "game-changer."
"AppleScript support in Pixelmator Pro is a game-changer, making this amazing app an essential component of everyone's workflows. Whether you run scripts or write them, the depth and scope of the AppleScript automation in Pixelmator Pro makes magic happen. Kudos to the Pixelmator Team for their commitment and service to the Mac community."
For those who want to get started and build automation into Pixelmator Pro, the Pixelmator team has but together a deatiled tutorial. The update is available to Mac users today and, for those who are still considering purchasing Pixelmator Pro, the app is currently 30% off its usual price on the Mac App Store.
Earlier this year, Nvidia released RTX Voice, a beta software to process audio and suppress almost all background noise, and it worked amazingly well. My colleague Jon Porter made the sound of his clacking mechanical keyboard completely disappear. Today, Nvidia has released a successor app called Broadcast, and it’s available to download now.
Nvidia Broadcast is a follow-up to the RTX Voice beta and introduces two new AI-powered features: Virtual Background and Auto Frame. Nvidia says that the noise removal feature also now has a reduced performance cost and supports triple the number of noise profiles.
The new Virtual Background allows you to remove the background of your webcam...

Start episode 8 and go back to the cave that led you to the secret stage before. This time, you'll be able to keep FLUDD. Instead, you'll be tasked with collecting eight Red Coins before the time runs out.
The new Shine will appear right in front of the old one.
Head back to episode 6 and towards the back of the Dirty Lake. Back in the secret stage, you'll need to ground pound the red switch and collect the eight Red Coins in 1:30 to get another Shine.
Head over and collect your prize.
Replay episode 2 and if you can get a better time than 40 seconds in the Blooper race, you'll earn another Shine.
Head back to episode 4 and head to the top of the tower at Ricco Harbor. When you reenter the secret stage, ground-pound the red switch and start the time.
The Shine is all yours.
Replay episode 1 and enter the sand castle that leads to the secret stage. Run through the first row of sand blocks and trigger the red switch. You have one minute to grab all of the Red Coins.
After that, the Shine is yours.
Replay episode 8 and head over to the reflective panels. Find the sprout in between the panels and spray it with water, which will create a staircase leading down. Spray the wall at the bottom to reveal a Shine.
Head back to episode 2 and back into Monty Mole's cannon. Once inside, stomp on the red switch on the Yoshi block. You have a minute to collect all eight Red Coins.
With that, the secret Shine is all yours.
Replay episode 5, and reenter the secret stage using a orange Yoshi. Once inside, jump pass the rotating blocks and ground pound the red switch. This time you have two minutes to collect all of the Red Coins.
Be careful not to fall as you run over to collect the secret Shine.
Go back to Episode 2 and re-enter the secret stage. Head through the first part as you normally would. Once you break past the brown blocks, you'll find the red switch. Ground-pound it and start the timer. You'll have 1:30 to collect all of the Red Coins
Return to episode 4 and head back into the casino. Play the games and get access to the secret stage again. Time is short on this run — you'll only have one minute to collect all of the Red Coins once you press the red switch.
Revisit episode 6 and reenter the special stage through the shell. Make it pass the first few obstacles and smash the red switch to start the timer.
Enter any episode after episode 5 that has clean water to get this Shine (anything after Episo). From the start, head to the area where the grandpa Noki told you about the ancient king's treasure. Head to a green arch and wall jump between the walls. You'll jump into a secret path. Follow the path to another opening. When you jump into the new opening, you'll be shot up to the top of the cliff, with nothing but a tree and a gold bird. Spray the bird to get the shine.
Head back to episode 5 and enlist Yoshi's help again to get back into the secret stage. Once in the stage, hit the red switch and start the timer.
And with that, the Shine is yours.
Replay episode 8 and head to the giant palm tree in the back of the village (the one you ran to when you raced II Piantisimo). Use FLUDD to hop onto the giant palm tree leaf and towards the tower with the emblem of the sun on it. You'll know it because a Red Coin is sitting on top of it.
Stand on the emblem and aim FLUDD at the sun. Spray it down and the Shine is yours.
Now that you know where all of the secret Shine to acquire every Shine Sprite in Super Mario Sunshine, you're one step closer to finding all 120 Shines. If you want help with Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Galaxy, we have guides for those games as well.

Apple has already released iOS 14.2 to developers, making it available just one day after the public release of iOS 14. In addition to iOS and iPadOS 14.2, Apple made developer versions of tvOS 14.2 and watchOS 7.1 available.
What happened to 14.1? Your guess is as good as ours! Perhaps that version is being installed on iPhone 12s as they leave the factory, identical to iOS 14 save for support for the new hardware, with Apple aiming to bring iOS 14.2 to market so it's ready to download when those phones hit the stores. Perhaps we'll also see an iOS 14.1 beta release, oddly begun after the iOS 14.2 beta. If we ever figure it out, we'll let you know.
If you've tried everything, but your Apple TV won't update to tvOS 14, here are four tried and true fixes.
You can officially install the latest Apple TV update, and if you don't know everything you need to know about tvOS 14 you're in for a real treat. If your Apple TV won't update to tvOS 14 automatically, you can do so manually, but there may be some complications. If the install times out, fails to verify, won't download, won't complete, or won't reboot, here's what you can try.
If the Settings app won't find tvOS and your Apple TV won't update even start the update, you can try force-quitting it. Just press and hold the Menu button on your Siri remote. Easy as pie.
If you're still having trouble, you can force restart the Apple TV itself:
Or simply hold down the Menu and Home button until the Apple TV resets.
If your Apple TV is completely unresponsive, you can try restarting your Apple TV using your Siri Remote. Press and hold the Home Button (the one that looks like a TV) and the Menu Button at the same time for about 6 seconds. Let go when the status light on your Apple TV starts flashing.
If your Apple TV HD won't update, you can plug it into your Mac using a USB-C cable and restore it from Finder.
Note: On macOS Mojave and older, your device appears in iTunes. All of the steps are the same.
The Apple TV 4K does not have a USB-C port, and so doesn't easily connect to your computer for a Finder Restore. If you call Apple support for help, it's likely that you'll be asked to send in your Apple TV. However, some users have had success by power cycling their Apple TV five or six times in a row by unplugging the Apple TV, waiting a minute, and then plugging back in the Apple TV.
This should send the Apple TV 4K into factory reset mode, which will erase all of your settings but should unfreeze your Apple TV.
It may be time to book a Genius appointment at a nearby Apple Store. You may be asked for your Apple TV's serial number; you can find it by checking one of three sources:
If you're on the developer beta, and the Apple Store knows it, they may redirect you to developer support. If you failed to install the public beta, though, or they just take pity on you, they may help you anyway.
Of course, it may just be time to invest in something new so you have the best Apple TV for today's advanced technology.
Run into a problem with the new Apple TV beta you can't fix? Let us know in the comments!
