La popularidad de los lenguajes de programación en un gráfico interactivo

Con datos de GitHub y Stack Overflow (ejes horizontal/vertical) se ha creado este gráfico interactivo de «popularidad» de los lenguajes de programación actuales . Teóricamente –si dibujas la diagonal imaginaria desde el 0– cuando más arriba y a la derecha esté un lenguaje, más «movimiento tiene» y «más se habla de él» en estos dos populares sitios usados habitualmente entre los programadores. JavaScript, PHP y Java son el Top #3, seguidos de C#, Python y C++ lo cual coincide más o menos con la sabiduría popular.


Esto desde luego no es una ciencia exacta porque el hecho de que se modifiquen en GitHub muchas o pocas líneas de un tipo de código concreto o que se hable mucho o poco de él no significa que sea «el mejor» ni «el más usado» siquiera – pero al menos da una pista sobre cómo está el tema y quizá sobre ese etéreo término: «popularidad».


Eso sí: si para tu lenguaje favorito no existen referencias (tags) en un foro de preguntas y respuesta tan popular como Stack Overflow ni nadie ha hecho un número significativo de aportaciones en GitHub… un poco rarito sí que debe ser. Pero vamos: que sí a te gusta o te va bien, fenomenal.
