Pacific Blue is taking the lead as the most popular iPhone color.
Reported by Loup Ventures (via AppleInsider), it appears that the iPhone 12 Pro is beating out the iPhone 12 as the most popular new phone so far in its 2020 lineup. This of course comes before the release of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max which are set to launch on Friday, November 13.
In a note, Gene Munster and David Stokman believed that the two upcoming iPhones will enjoy the benefit of higher stock than the phones that were released back in October.
"Importantly, we were not expecting changes to lead times this morning given supply for the two most recent iPhones is likely greater than the supply for the two iPhones that began pre-orders on Oct. 16th," the duo wrote.
Shipping dates for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max did, however, begin to slip for certain models when both phones became available for preorder on Friday, November 6. It appears that, in addition to the Pro models being more popular so far, the Pacific Blue color seems to be the most popular for iPhone buyers.
As a takeaway, Munster and Stokman suggest that the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max in Pacific Blue with 128GB of storage ranked as Apple's most popular handset configurations thus far.
Once November 13 rolls around all of Apple's 2020 iPhone lineup will officially launch. As of today, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max, as well as the HomePod mini, are available to preorder. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have been available to order since October.
Pre-orders are now open for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro at Apple. Devices will begin shipping on October 23.
We get our first hands-on with Apple's upcoming MagSafe Duo Charger.
A new video has popped up on YouTube that might be our best real-world hands-on of Apple's upcoming MagSafe Duo Charger yet.
The video was uploaded to a YouTube channel called DailyUse OS and shows off the MagSafe Duo Charger at work. The person who has the charger shows how it unfolds and folds back down for portability. They also show off plugging the lightning cable into the back of the charger.
They also prop up the Apple Watch charging part of the charger and place both an Apple Watch and iPhone 12 on the charger to show each device getting a charge.
Apple revealed earlier today that the MagSafe Duo Charger will retail for $129 and is "Coming Soon." It also requires Apple's 20W charger in order to provide fast charging to the iPhone 12.
You can watch the video showing off the charger below:
Apple is looking to invest even more into podcasting.
Reported by Bloomberg, Apple has apparently held talks to acquire Wondery, the podcasting network behind popular podcasts like "Dirty John" and "Dr. Death." According to people familiar with the matter, it could be the largest podcasting acquisition yet.
Wondery is seeking $300 million to $400 million in a possible sale, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the negotiations are ongoing.
Apple is one of four companies that have held talks about buying Wondery. Spotify has also had talks about acquiring the podcasting network but has reportedly dropped out of the race.
Apple and Sony are two of at least four companies that have discussed a deal with Wondery, according to one of the people. Though Spotify Technology SA has been the most aggressive buyer of podcasting companies over the last two years, the Swedish audio giant has pulled out of the running, said two people with knowledge of the talks. A deal is expected in coming months, but there's no guarantee that the discussions won't fall apart.
Wondery is one of the largest independent podcasting networks with a monthly audience reaching more than eight million people. Apple is already working with the studio on a project for Apple TV+ that will follow the story of WeWork.
It's possible that the price tag could scare off some would-be bidders, especially since the podcasting industry is still fairly small. But Wondery has a pipeline of podcasts that could be turned into television series and other content. It's already developing more than a dozen TV shows based on its podcasts, including a program for Apple about the rise and fall of WeWork.
Apple has recently put a lot of focus into original content for its Podcasts app. In addition to looking for acquisitions like Wondery, the company has also been working to create podcasts that pair with its original programming on Apple TV+.
A new video from Digital Foundry makes it immediately clear that the PS5 brings notable performance improvements to many PS4 games. The 30-minute video shows off a lot of big PS4 titles on running PS5, including Crysis Remastered, Dark Souls 3, Days Gone (with its PS5-exclusive 60fps framerate), Ghost of Tsushima (with its PS5-exclusive 60fps framerate), Hitman, Just Cause 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
I highly recommend that you watch it to see the games in action:
In the leadup to the PS5’s launch, Sony promised that the “overwhelming majority” of the more 4,000 PS4 games would work on the new console, and we’ve seen some developers announce PS5-exclusive optimizations (like Ghost of Tsushima’s boost to...
