Grab a refurbished iPhone XS from Apple for the first time.
Today, Apple has begun selling refurbished models of the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max on the refurbished section of the Apple Store website. This is the first time that the website has seen refurbished models of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max available since the phones originally launched in September of 2018.
You can currently find the iPhone XS in all three colors: Space Gray, Silver, and Gold. The Space Gray and Silver are both available in all three size configurations: 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The Gold model is currently only available in 64GB and 256GB. The price ranges from $699 for the 64GB to $999 for the 512GB and all of the phones are unlocked.
The iPhone XS Max is currently only available in Silver and Gold, but each color is available in all storage sizes. The iPhone XS Max starts at $799 for the 64GB to $1099 for the 512GB, and all of the phones are unlocked. That means that you are grabbing a savings of anywhere from $200 to $250 off the current price from a new base model iPhone XS to the top-end iPhone XS Max.
Apple says that all of the phones include a one year warranty, all manuals and accessories, a new battery and outer shell, and a new box. The phones all go through "full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning". All refurbished iPhones are also eligible for AppleCare if you want your iPhone to be protected from accidental damage protection for two years.
Personio, the Germany-founded HR platform for SMEs, has raised $75 million in Series C funding in a round led by Accel. I understand the investment values the company at around $500 million.
Also joining is Lightspeed Venture Partners, alongside Lars Dalgaard (the founder and former CEO of SuccessFactors). Existing investors Index Ventures, Northzone, Rocket Internet’s Global Founders Capital, and Picus Capital followed on.
The Series C brings Personio’s total funding to $130 million since launching in 2015. The additional capital will help support the company’s expansion into the U.K. and Ireland, which is also being announced today. This will see Personio establish a new office in London to better serve clients in the U.K. and Ireland.
Combining human resources, recruiting and payroll into a single platform, Personio bills itself as a “HR operating system” for small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) ranging from 10 to 2,000 employees.
The cloud-based software is designed to power all of a company’s people processes via the product’s own growing functionality or through its ability to integrate with third-party software.
To that end, Personio says its customer base has tripled in the past twelve months, and says it now serves almost 2,000 customers in more than 40 countries. In the same period, the number of employees at Personio has more than doubled to over 350. That figure is set to reach 700 employees by the end of 2020.
Along with traditional SMEs, Personio has naturally found a home amongst startups. “The strong growth of the last four years in German-speaking countries has shown that there is a great demand for HR software in SMEs,” Personio co-founder and CEO Hanno Renner tells me.
“42% of their time is currently spent on administrative tasks, according to a recent, as yet unpublished study from Germany. Personio automates repetitive tasks and thus gives HR staff time for value-adding tasks. This is an invaluable advantage that has already convinced several U.K. customers such as Raisin and millimetric.”

Description: Machamp is humanoid in shape, but it has an extra set of muscular arms coming out of its shoulder blades. His body is almost entirely bluish grey, save for pale yellow lips, three brown ridges atop its head, and black markings that resemble wrestler's briefs. It also wears a gold champion belt. Machamp's body is covered in some of the most powerful muscles known to the Pokémon world, giving it incredible strength. It can punch faster than it can think - up to five hundred punches a second - but it lacks the dexterity for delicate work. Because Machamp can only be evolved through trading, they are almost never found in the wild. There are a few that can be found high up in the mountains, but most are found in human cities where they often help with heavy lifting.
Capable of Gigantamaxing, Gigantamax Machamp grows to massive heights and unimaginable strength. Its skin darkens and its hands gain orange and yellow markings. The briefs it had as Machamp now extend all the way to its ankles and the center ridge atop its head is longer. Its belt has expanded again, encircling a trim waistline. Gigantamax Machamp's punches have been compared to bomb blasts, but there is also a legend in Galar about on who saved a ship from troubled waters.

If Apple really wanted its fledgling streaming service to nab more awards last year, it probably should have worked Little America into its launch lineup. This little "anthology" of eight unrelated half-hour episodes—each following immigrants from different countries—is the best thing we've seen from Apple TV+ to date. It's smart, both in content and how it handles casting. It's relevant, especially in an age when immigration dominates frightful headlines and lies at the heart of some of our country's worst contemporary sins. Little America has big things to say.
