God of Light strategy guide: Top tips, hints, and cheats you need to know!

In God of Light your job is to help Shiny bring light back to the world and save the universe. You'll have to look carefully for clues and use an array of different objects that refract, split, and bounce light off them. If you get stuck, you can also ask the fireflies for their help, but be careful, you only have so many before you run out. If you're stuck on a level, that's where iMore comes in. We've got all the tips, hints, and cheats you need to solve even the hardest God of Light levels!

1. Let the map guide you to fireflies

If you run out of fireflies, you'll have to buy them as an in-app purchase. However, you should rarely have to since you can collect quite a few from watching free ads and by just looking at the map. If you see a level with a firefly hovering over it, that means there is a firefly for you to collect somewhere in the level. If you didn't get it on your first try, you can always backtrack and collect them.

2. Sometimes there is more than one solution

Don't always assume there's only one way to solve a level, especially in levels where there are many mirrors to bounce light off. Don't always get fixated on one solution or exactly what the fireflies tell you. I've found other ways to collect all three prisms and complete the level.

3. Use Shiny to take a look around

Most of the time you and use Shiny to take a quick look around. This minimizes the amount of times you actually need to use fireflies. Instead, just point Shiny in a direction and you'll be able to faintly see what's around. You can also use mirrors in the same way. Even if you can't see anywhere to go just yet, use mirrors and Shiny to expand your field of view before using your fireflies. Save those for when you really need them.

4. Light up as much as you can before using fireflies

This goes along with tip three. Make sure you activate all mirrors, prisms, and other objects that you can reach before using fireflies. This way you max out what you can see. Sometimes a mirror or object that can help is lurking in a dark corner. You just need to be a little more patient in order to find it.

5. Angles are everything

Sometimes an angle can be ever so slightly wrong and it can throw off your entire pattern. Once you think you have the right solution, don't assume it's wrong. Instead, go back and tweak mirrors and any other objects you're using to manipulate the light beam. I typically start by moving Shiny slightly to see an overview of how that affects all the light beams connected.

6. Some mirrors may need to be used more than once

In a few cases, a mirror or prism will play double duty and have to refract or reflect light in two different directions. It's not often but watch for this as it's an easy way to get stuck.
