Your iPhone 6 needs a case, so here are ten of them!

Your iPhone 6 is on pre-order and should be in your hands Friday (or maybe soon thereafter). But do you have a case for it? If not, you should! You need to keep your iPhone 6 looking new and protected from dents and dings. Here's a roundup of ten iPhone 6 cases you can order. Some you can preorder now and they'll ship on the 19th — same day the phone comes out. Some are available now. Others you'll have to wait a few weeks for.

Griffin Survivor Slim

Combines a rigid polycarbonate shell and a tough silicone jacket designed to absorb impacts. Drop-tested from 6.6 feet. Rubber buttons protect volume and power controls, textures on the side designed to help you keep a firm grip. Cutout enables the Touch ID sensor to continue to work. Coming soon.

iLuv Snoopy Series

iLuv has an exclusive licensing arrangement with Peanuts, so if you're a fan, here's the place to go for an official case. Different styles and designs are available, all with Snoopy and other Peanuts characters (including Woodstock, Charlie Brown, Linus and Schroeder). It's a hardshell case with a raised front edge to keep the iPhone's glass off the table when it's face down. Hardshell but soft-coated for easier grip, all ports and controls are open and accessible. Coming soon.

Incipio DualPro

Dual-layer protection combines ABS polycarbonate on the outside with a shock-absorbing thermoplastic elastomer on the inside. Made in a ton of fun colors like periwinkle, coral, and lime, along with more stately black, grey, etc. Currently taking preorders.

Rokform iPhone 6 Case

Dual-compound case design, drop-tested to six feet. There's a soft shock-absorbing inner shell with a tough polycarb outer shell, and a magnet mount is included so you can mount it anywhere you please. The company makes a mounting system that works in cars, on bicycles and motorcycles and with photography gear. Two snap-in backs are included, including the keyed one you see in this picture which works specifically with the Rokform Mounting System. So if you've already invested in a Rokform mount or if it appeals to you, this case would be a good choice.

Speck CandyShell

Speck Products' popular CandyShell is a two-layer case in single-unit construction with a glossy exterior finish. The raised bezel protects the screen and adds some grip so you can lie the phone face down without it sliding all over the place. The volume and power buttons and shielded underneath rubberized covers. Not shipping yet; expect it to be released on September 19th.

Spigen Slim Armor

Double-layered case made of thermoplastic polyurethane and polycarbonate with "web pattern" shock absorption. Combination matte and glossy finishes offers a sophisticated look, with "air cushion" corners to help protect the phone if it's dropped. Buttons are flush with the case, and it's available in a variety of colors: slate, red, white, silver and gunmetal.

Otterbox Defender

Otterbox has a well-deserved reputation for building some of the toughest cases you can get for your iOS device. The company is shipping Defender cases designed to fit the iPhone 6 on day one. Triple-layer case designed to take abuse, incorporates integrated screen protector too. Port cover protects Lightning port from dust and debris. Includes a belt clip. Available in a variety of colors; you can mix and match the interior shell and the slipcover color for hundreds of color combinations, including ludicrously garish ones like this.

Trident Cyclops

Looking for some dust, dirt, debris and shockproofing for your iPhone 6, without spending a mint? Trident's Cyclops comprises a polycarbonate front plate and a back plate made of polycarbonate and thermo plastic elastomer. Two-layer protection for your iPhone 6 with plugs to keep dirt and debris away from the the Lightning and headphone jacks, with a dust filter to protect the speaker. A clear shield protects the screen. Meets military specifications, and the plastic is "bio-enhanced" to make it more recyclable and degradable when it's finally time to retire it.

Urban Armor Gear Scout

UAG's two-element design combines an armor shell and impact resistant soft core. Despite its heavy duty looking construction it's a lightweight case. Sports tactle buttons, easy access to ports, scratch-resistent skid pads and meets military drop test standards. Expected to ship on September 19th. Available in a variety colors, and clear.

X-Doria Engage Plus

X-Doria's Engage Plus is a polycarbonate one-piece design with a raised bezel to help protect the screen a bit. Across the back is a laser-etched stripe design, and it's available in either silver or gold.

Special mention: Lifeproof

Otterbox-owned Lifeproof makes one of the most popular waterproof cases you can get for iOS devices — their Fre and Nuud cases are some of the best out there. Their web site indicates that they're working on iPhone 6 cases now and encourages visitors to sign up for details, but they haven't posted anything yet.
