While we still prefer dedicated consoles for our gaming, the iPhone does have some pretty amazing games. But you know what makes those games even better? A dedicated gamepad, of course. Mount your iPhone and game on

The Rotor Riot is an officially certified Made for iPhone game controller. Simply mount your iPhone in the clip, connect it with your iPhone, and play to your heart's content. The Rotor Riot even has L3 and R3 buttons for the complete gaming experience.

While a lot of my gaming is done on my Nintendo Switch or PS4 these days, I like to enjoy some of the best iPhone games every now and then too. But one of the worst things about gaming on the iPhone or iPad are the touchscreen controls, ick! I'll always prefer physical buttons because I love the tactile feedback I get when I push down on a button and I know for sure that I've pressed it. You don't get that with touchscreen controls, and you can't convince me otherwise. So I will always prefer to game on my iPhone with a gamepad, and the Rotor Riot is an excellent option on the market.

With Rotor Riot, just attach the support post to the top of the controller and mount your iPhone in it — you can also use it without the clip. Connect the controller to your iPhone with a cable, and you'll enjoy latency free and zero lag on your favorite games, such as Call of Duty, Minecraft, Oceanhorn, Stardew Valley, Real Racing 3, and many more. Rotor Riot also works with PS4 Remote Play, Steam Link, OneCast, and Shadow.

If you're worried that the Rotor Riot won't deliver a console-like experience with your iPhone, that's where you're mistaken! The Rotor Riot has full-size buttons and triggers, so it's almost like using a DualShock 4 or Xbox One S controller. You also get completely functional L3 and R3 button joysticks, as well as an improved D-pad design. Simply put, the Rotor Riot does not skimp out on anything — this is a complete and comprehensive gaming controller for your iPhone. And it has passthrough charging, so you won't even need to worry about your gear dying in the middle of a game either.

The Rotor Riot is one of our favorite gamepads for iPhone, so make sure to pick it up while it's on sale for Prime Day.

Forget 5G: MagSafe could be the biggest reason to buy an iPhone 12

By now, you’ve probably read my colleague Nick Statt’s piece about how the iPhone 12’s MagSafe magnetically-attached wireless charging cable opens up a future where iPhones won’t need ports at all.

That sounds futuristic! Now, let’s talk about something a little more practical... something legions of people already do with their phones.

We stick them in cases — thousands upon thousands of different cases every year — to protect them from damage, attach them to car docks, add fancy lenses and, most of all, reflect our personality and mood. We glue on flashy finger ring holders and PopSockets, slap on stickers, anything to make them look and feel different from the same damn iPhone our friends, family, neighbors and strangers are toting...

The iPhone 12 will only support 5G mmWave in the United States

Those wanting 5G mmWave outside the United States will have to wait.

What you need to know

• 5G mmWave will only be available on the iPhone 12 lineup in the United States.
• The cutout on the side of the iPhone 12 is for 5G mmWave.
• Other countries will only support low and mid-band 5G.

Reported by 9to5Mac, the entire iPhone 12 lineup will support 5G, but only the models sold in the United States will support the highest speed 5G mmWave. The report confirms that the cutout found on the right side of the new iPhone 12 is something that will only be found for iPhone 12 models in the United States and does in fact enable 5G mmWave.

Apple today introduced the iPhone 12 lineup with four new models, all of which support 5G networks for the first time. However, the super-fast 5G mmWave is exclusive to models sold in the US. In order to improve support for the new 5G network, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro comes with a new side cutout that has confused some people.

9to5Mac also confirmed that only iPhone 12 models sold in the United States will feature the cutout on the right side of the iPhone in order to support 5G mmWave.

Interestingly enough, models with 5G mmWave will be available exclusively in the US, so iPhone 12 models sold in other countries will not have this cutout, as you can see by visiting Apple's website from other regions.

iPhone 12 customers will all be able to enjoy all three levels of 5G coverage, but keep in mind that 5G mmWave, the fastest of the technologies, is still limited to close proximity, meaning that most iPhone 12 owners will most likely rarely come into an area that has it.
