Welcome to the first annual Verge Hack Week. We're totally blowing up our site: we've given our reporters and editors the entire week to play with new tools and experiment with new storytelling ideas, while members of our amazing product team have gathered in New York to help build all sorts of interesting new things. Samsung makes a ton of products, everything from televisions, to refrigerators, to washing machines. But it's best at making rectangles, and it seems to release a new rectangle every week. If you're not paying close attention, all of those rectangles start to blend together, making it awfully hard to tell today's Samsung rectangle from the rectangle it released last week or six months ago.

NFL Now goes for a touchdown on Apple TV





The Apple TV continues to expand it's sports lineup, today adding NFL Now. Just ahead of the new football season, the channel provides provides on-demand content from the National Football League, and works best if you have an NFL Now account.


NFL Now lets you watch series and highlights from past games. Shows include Hard Knocks, America's Game, as well as the most popular videos on NFL Now. The Highlights section has a wealth of clips from the preseason, and will fill up with videos from the season as it continues. If you're a member of NFL Now, you can sign in to view your own personalized channel. NFL Now Plus customers can subscribe to the paid service through the Apple TV, and of course restore a subscription if necessary.

Little Boy, the nuclear bomb that U.S. forces dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945, leveled a two-mile radius of the city, killing an estimated 80,000 people. It was an enormous amount of destruction—and it was caused by less than two percent of the uranium carried by the bomb.
