The outlet posted to Twitter saying that, alongside the potential announcement of new apps and a new App Store, Apple may also bring TestFlight, its app testing platform currently on iOS, to the Mac.
The information was shared today by The Verifier editor Avi David on Twitter, which was later corroborated by the blog's profile on the social network. The blog claims that Apple will finally announce the Mac version of TestFlight on November 10 during its event.

According to the report, The Verifier talked about TestFlight coming to the Mac as soon as WWDC, but that annoncement appears to now be pushed to Apple's all but confirmed Apple Silicon event.
Earlier this year, The Verifier heard from sources that Apple was working on TestFlight for macOS, which would probably be announced at WWDC 2020. That, of course, never happened — but now, The Verifier has said that TestFlight for Mac is officially coming next week as part of Apple's November event announcements.
9to5Mac notes that TestFlight received a new icon in August that aligned with the design guidelines for macOS Big Sur, putting more weight behind The Verifier's prediction.
Interestingly, Apple updated the TestFlight app for iOS in August with a new icon following the macOS Big Sur design guidelines, which suggests that the company is in fact preparing a Mac version of its beta testing platform.
Apple is set to host its "One More Thing" event on November 10 at 10:00 AM PST in which it is expected to announce its new Apple Silicon processors and the first Apple Silicon MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.

Apple releases design guidelines for MagSafe accessory makers

Reported by MacRumors, Apple has released a PDF document in which it gives accessory makers who wish to create MagSafe compatible accessories incredibly specific instructions to do so.
The Accessory Design Guidelines detail what Apple requires from accessory makers in order to be accepted into the "Made for iPhone" accessory program, Apple's program that verifies an accessory will work with its devices from a performance and safety standpoint.
The guideline goes into specifics for those who want to make an accessory that is compatible with Apple's new MagSafe technology which it built into the back of the new iPhone 12 lineup. As explained below, the company is very exact in its requirements for even cases that want to use MagSafe.
Cases that have a MagSafe magnet, for example, must enclose the device, have a maximum thickness of 2.1mm, and must firmly attach to the device without relying on the magnets, which means no magnetic snap-on cases that won't otherwise stay attached to the iPhone.
Going further, Apple explains that cases cannot interfere with wireless charging or cards in its own Leather Wallet that has been designed for the iPhone 12.
The design document is extensive and has specific placement, dimension, and polarity instructions so that all MagSafe accessories can magnetically self align "within a 1.55mm radial maximum. Cases with magnet arrays must not interfere with either wireless charging or magnetic stripe cards in an attached iPhone Leather Wallet, and Apple has special testing protocols for vendors to use.
Following these guidelines allow companies to list their products with the "Made for iPhone" logo, an important indicator to show that your accessory is safe and compatible with Apple's devices.

How social media sites plan to handle premature election declarations
The election results will start to come in as early as 7pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, when seven states begin closing the polls. The next few hours will see more polls close around the country, more votes processed, more counts updated. But we won’t have the final result that night.
This isn’t unusual: In the US, counting votes and officially certifying them always goes on longer than Election Day, and the coronavirus means the counting will probably take longer than that. But on Sunday, Axios reported that President Trump intends to prematurely declare victory if it looks like he’s leading in the early returns, even if there are still millions of votes left to be counted. He has denied this specific claim, but it is in line with his long campaign to undermine the legitimacy of the election, and matches his promise to use lawyers to stop ballot counting in Pennsylvania as soon as polls close—even though the state will still have many mail-in ballots left to count and report.
So what exactly will happen if a candidate prematurely declares victory before the contest is truly over?
Social media
This the front line. Any premature declaration will likely hit American networks like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube first, so the way these platforms handle this kind of activity will inform what happens next. Those three sites are planning to use labeling to deal with this kind of disinformation.
Twitter, the president’s social media platform of choice, says it will prominently label misleading tweets about election results from candidates, as well as any viral tweet. Disputed announcements will be met with a label that says “Official sources may not have called the race when this was Tweeted.”
To confirm results, the company will be leaning on state and local election officials as well as major national news outlets with dedicated election coverage desks. At least two sources will have to confirm the results of a race before a candidate can tweet about results without a warning label being applied.
YouTube, which has been a top campaign advertising battleground, will place an information panel on videos prematurely declaring victory. That will link to Google’s election results feature, which is being produced in partnership with the Associated Press.
“We’ll also continue to raise up authoritative content from news organizations and reduce the spread of borderline election misinformation,” said Google spokesperson Ivy Choi. “Additionally, if a piece of content, in the course of prematurely declaring victory, misleads viewers about voting or encourages interference in democratic processes, we will remove that in accordance with our community guidelines.”
When the polls close, all Google’s ad platforms—including YouTube and its search engine—will pause ads that reference the 2020 election. That may cut off another potential avenue for disinformation across the company’s internet empire.
Facebook is placing its own hopes in labels as well, including a preemptive notification in news feeds to follow authoritative news outlets like Reuters and the Associated Press for election results. Facebook’s normal response to false news is to reduce its spread on the network and partner with fact-checkers for additional labeling.
Elsewhere, TikTok’s policy reduces the visibility of posts prematurely claiming victory and is working on an “expedited” schedule with fact checking partners around Election Day.

Reported by 9to5Mac, Pandora has added support for HomePod and Siri ahead of the launch of the HomePod mini. The streaming service was one that the company highlighted as having support "in the coming months" during its "Hi, Speed" event in October. While many thought that this might mean waiting until 2021, it appears that at least Pandora has added support before the new smaller HomePod even went live for preorders.
Today's news, as pointed out in the report, is not necessarily surprising as Pandora has been quick to add support for many of Apple's features. It even beat Spotify to add offline playback and music streaming for its Apple Watch app.
Pandora has a great track record of quickly implementing Apple's latest features like Siri Shortcuts, streaming, and offline playback support on Apple Watch to name a few. Now the company is an early adopter of integration with HomePod as Apple is about to expand the lineup with HomePod mini.
As noted in the report, you'll still need to specifically indicate you want to stream something from Pandora when using Siri with the HomePod. For example, rather than saying "play Adele," you'll need to say "play Adele on Pandora." Saying the first command will play music through Apple Music, as Apple has not yet added support to change your default music service to the HomePod.
Pandora's integration with HomePod is simple to set up through the iOS app and easy to use with Siri. You'll need to specify that you want to listen to content on Pandora in your Siri request as Apple hasn't opened up HomePod to change the default music service. But this is great integration that's smooth to use. It means you can use ask your HomePod to play artists, songs, playlists, and podcasts from Pandora.
In order to set up Pandora for use with HomePod, you'll need to update to the latest version of the Pandora app on the App Store and connect it to your Home and HomePod in the settings section of the app.
