Los despegues y aterrizajes de Guillaume Laffon en 4K, con todo lujo de detalles y explicaciones

Guillaume Laffon es un piloto de Air France que tiene una espectacular colección de vídeos en 4K de alta calidad grabados durante su trabajo. Pilota aviones por todas partes del mundo, principalmente Boeing 777 y Airbus 340. Es fácil encontrar secuencias de Nueva York, Chicago, Tokio, Sao Paulo o Tahití, entre otras muchas. Sus vídeos parecen un poco como de videojuego o simulador, pero son tan reales como la realidad misma.

Los vídeos se concentran en las operaciones de despegue y aterrizaje, incluyendo el rodaje por las calles paralelas a las pistas principales. No son tutoriales, pero casi, casi. Suele añadir infografías y sobre todo rótulos a los instrumentos de vuelo y los diferentes pasos de los procedimientos, indicando qué señala cada lucecita, pantalla o para qué son los botones. Escuchar las conversaciones entre los pilotos y la torre –normalmente en inglés, pero también francés– da pistas sobre el resto de lo que sucede.

De su colección he sacado dos vídeos de los más populares, aunque aunque muchos. El primero es el despegue desde la Terminal 2 del Charles De Gaulle de París (CDG), donde el despegue resulta lento porque hay mucho tráfico con otros aviones continuamente. Parte de la charla entre los pilotos versa sobre el procedimiento en caso de tener que abortar el despegue.

El otro vídeo es un aterrizaje en Los Ángeles (LAX), pista 25L, lo cual es siempre espectacular por la inmensidad de la ciudad y las luces nocturnas a la llegada al aeropuerto. Aquí Laffon superpone un mapa de navegación para que se entienda por dónde sobrevuelan y dónde están las referencias visuales y puntos clave (en cuanto desconectan el piloto automático).

Además de entretenido y divulgativo estos vídeos son también interesantes para entender mejor cómo es el peculiar lenguaje técnico que se utiliza para las comunicaciones tanto entre los pilotos como entre los pilotos y los controladores.
