How to make icons, text, and graphics larger with Display Zoom for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both come equipped with brand new Retina HD displays that can show more content on them than ever. However, just like computer screens, some folks prefer sacrificing seeing more on the screen in favor of actually being able to see it, even if it means sacrificing on resolution slightly. Display Zoom on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus works in much the same way and lets you do just that!

How to use Display Zoom on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

  1. Launch the Settings app.

  2. Tap on Display & Brightness.

  3. Under the Display Zoom section, tap on View.

  4. By default, Standard will be selected. Tap on Zoomed in order to change it.

  5. You can swipe back and forth on the images below the toggles in order to view the difference between both views.

  6. Choose the one you like best and then tap Set at the top right.

That's all there is to it! Everything on your iPhone 6 and 6 Plus should now look bigger. If you ever decide you want to change the resolution back to Standard, you can easily do so by following the same directions again.

If you've got an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus in your hands, have you decided to use Display Zoom in order to see better? Or would you rather just increase font size and leave the rest alone? Let me know in the comments!

Comienza el otoño de 2014

Equinoccio

Slamstop pulls car doors closed, so you don't have to slam 'em

A cut-away view of a car door with the Slamstop device installed

At some point or another, you've probably half-heartedly swung your car's passenger door closed, only to see the "door ajar" light come on once you're on the road. In some cases, this can even result in the door swinging open while driving. Slamming the doors shut is one option, although Slamstop is designed to be a quieter alternative. .. iPhone 6 Plus vs. Nokia Lumia 1520 camera shootout!

We've already seen how the iPhone 6 Plus camera shapes up against the iPhone 6, but what about the real competition? You know, phones Apple doesn't make? Well, our buddy Mark Guim over at Windows Phone Central has taken the time to do a quick shootout between Apple's biggest phone and the biggest Nokia phone to date, the Lumia 1520.

Here are some of Mark's observations:

  • The iPhone 6 Plus images in daylight consistently appear brighter than the images on the Lumia 1520.

  • The images on the Lumia 1520 appear to have more detail and slightly more contrast.

  • In low light, the images on the Lumia 1520 appear brighter than the iPhone 6.

  • Both perform well at getting the right white balance.

Of course, you don't just have to take his word for it, the photos over at the source link and in the video below are there for you to judge for yourselves. Mark's pretty handy when it comes to photography but he's right when he says that deciding which is "better" is pretty subjective. And Nokia – now Microsoft, of course – has done great things with cameras for a number of years now, so it's of no surprise that it's a close call.

So, check them out for yourselves and tell us which you prefer in the comments below!
