Colossal 18-Foot, 98-Pound Python Captured in Florida

Two people recently caught an enormous Burmese python in Florida and it’s actually the stuff of nightmares.
Cynthia Downer and Jonathan Lopez captured the reptile, which was 18.4 feet long and weighed a whopping 98 pounds, at Big Cypress National Preserve in Ochopee, Florida, on September 22, CNN reported.
The Burmese python was the largest ever caught by members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Python Action Team. It’s the second-largest wild python ever captured in Florida and a mere four inches shorter than the record-holding Burmese python.
The Python Action Team was created by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove invasive Burmese pythons throughout the state. Team members are paid to locate and catch Burmese pythons in South Florida, which are not native to Florida and may be a threat to other animals in the state.
“Removing 900 pythons is a great milestone for our Python Action Team! These snakes coupled with the thousands removed by our partners at the National Park Service and the South Florida Water Management District make a significant impact to protect Florida’s native wildlife,” said FWC Executive Director Eric Sutton. “With leadership from Governor Ron DeSantis, we are committed to working with our partners including the South Florida Water Management District and the National Park Service to accomplish our goal of removing pythons from our beautiful state.”

Daniel Craig looks like he has a big mission ahead of him in the first No Time To Die movie poster.
The picture for the James Bond-themed film was posted on Instagram in honor of Global James Bond Day on Saturday, Deadline reported.
In the poster, Craig is sporting a sleek suit and appears to be eying something suspicious in the distance. No Time To Die, along with the iconic 007 logo, are shown in cool formatting as well.
No Time To Die follows James Bond (Craig), as he puts his retirement on hold to help his CIA buddy Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) with a life-threatening task. James Bond is asked to find a kidnapped scientist who may not have a good track record, forcing James Bond to investigate a scenario that involves hazardous weapons.
No Time To Die, which also stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Christoph Waltz, hits theaters on April 8, 2020.

Fighting Forces is coming soon featuring increased Oddities!

Like Pokémon GO before it, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has regular events for its players to complete and, with some of the bigger events, go to and participate in. Right now in Wizards Unite, they are called Brilliant Events and they offer special shiny Foundables for your registry as well as special assignments for you to gain XP.
These events are not always active, though they do appear in your registry a little time before the launch of the event. They are also particularly important as they give you restricted section books. In fact, they are the only source of these books currently, and you need the books to complete your Profession path especially if you want to be a Professor.
This article is going to be a running primer of all the events, past and present, in Wizards Unite and will serve as your guide throughout them. We will try to include all the information we can and, with the help of the Reddit group, keep that information updated throughout the event.
What do the Events look like?
So far we only have one event to go on but it should give us an idea of what all the events will be like in Wizards Unite.
The Brilliant Events introduce new assignments to be completed, new Foundables to catch for your registry, a 7KM Portmanteau, and a set of brilliant runestones to be collected. The assignments are more like the SOS assignments than the daily assignments, in that they only end once the event has finished, so you have plenty of time to complete them. They also come in multiple tiers, with each tier offering better rewards.
The Foundables listed in the registry will change depending on the Event, but will all be available to catch. Once the event is over they won't reappear unless Niantic decides to do that event over again. Its first event was only for Beta users, so hopefully, they will redo that event now the game has gone live.
One of the most important parts of the events is the restricted section books you receive as rewards for completing the assignments. These are incredibly important as you need over 150 of them to complete each of the Auror and Magizoologist Professions, and a whopping 250 to complete the Professor skill tree. Making something that important only available during events is crazy, and I hope Niantic rethink this as soon as possible.
The brilliant event also introduces a new distance Portmanteau, the 7KM. Like the 7KM eggs in Pokémon GO, these Portmanteau house special Portkeys that relate to the Brilliant Event. You can also collect Brilliant runestones like the one above that will let you collect the Brilliant Foundables from your Wizard Challenges.
What events are there?
Here we will keep a running total of all the Events in Wizards Unite. If you see anything that we haven't from these events please let us know and we will add it to the article.
Fighting Forces Event
Get ready to earn more Restricted Section Books and unlock a new Portkey location with October's Brilliant Event: Fighting Forces!
October will see a new Brilliant Event called Fighting Forces. Based around the Dark Arts and Oddities, part one of the event will start on October 8, 2019, and finish on October 14, 2019. Part two of the event starts October 22, until October 28 and will have new traces to find.
New Foundables
This event will see new Foundables appear in the world that are connected to the Malfoy Manor event page. They can be found through different activities and the official site gives a list of the places they are likely to drop:
- Brilliant Oddity Encounters: Brilliant Death Eater and Brilliant Azkaban Escapee
- Wizarding Challenge Reward using Brilliant Event Runestone: Malfoy Family Crest
- Quest Rewards: Death Eater Mask and Azkaban Prison Number
- Portkey Rewards: Ollivander in Chains
Increased Oddities
Over the course of the event, we will see an increase in some of the Oddities that appear on the map. No word yet if they will appear during the day, but if you don't get to go out at night very often this might be a good way to catch up on them.
The Oddities that are increasing are:
- Death Eater
- Azkaban Escapee
- Pixie
- Erkling
So no more vampires, unfortunately, but you have a good chance of filling out some of your Oddity Family.
Potions
For the first time, Potions will see a decrease in brewing time over the course of the entire event. You can expect a 25 percent decrease in Estimulo Potion, and Healing Potion brewing times, so make sure you stock on them while you can.
It would be a good idea to get some time in the Fortresses while the potions are so abundant, especially the higher level rooms where a lot of potions can help win the day.
Flora and Fauna Event
The first brilliant event is upon us — Brilliant Event: Fantastic Flora and Fauna — will run starting next week (Wednesday, July 3, 2019), and players will be able to grab Restricted Books, find new Foundables, get special Runestones, and complete special tasks.
While New Zealand and Australia were busy Beta testing Wizards Unite for the rest of us, they were also given their own Event to try out and while we can't say for sure the event will run the exact same now that the game has fully launched, we can give you an idea of what you might be able to expect based on what happened in the beta.
The main push of this event was to complete 4 separate sets of assignments, each one more difficult than the last, to obtain restricted section books, and other rewards.
You also had six brilliant Foundables to collect, including a shiny purple Unicorn, and a shiny Buckbeak! These Foundables could be found in the world as well as in the Fortresses, and require the same kind of fragment collecting as normal Foundables.
It seems the best way to collect the Foundables was through the Fortresses, though of course, you needed to catch them normally to collect the Brilliant Runes needed to access the Wizard Challenges. The 7KM Portmanteaus also gave good amounts of fragments so it will be worth traveling with them in the events.
The combination of Foundables, Fortresses, and Portmanteaus was enough for a lot of people to complete the event and get the maximum number of restricted books possible so it seems Niantic may have already found a decent balance.

‘John Wick Hex’ Kills Us All at NYCC
If you don’t already love John Wick, what are you even doing on this website. In a blockbuster landscape littered with safe superheroes, we pledge ourselves to Keanu Reeves as the one true assassin god of legend. We’re still recovering from the knife party of this year’s John Wick 3.
When you think Keanu Reeves and video games, we don’t blame you if his breathtaking appearances in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 is the first thing that comes to mind. But in just a few days, John Wick is coming to our controllers, too, and not just in Fortnite. While it wasn’t playable, at a New York Comic Con panel we learned more about the upcoming John Wick Hex.
A John Wick video game is an exciting enough concept on its own. It was at an earlier NYCC where we entered Wick’s world in VR. But what makes John Wick Hex especially exciting is that the developer, Mike Bithell, is an acclaimed indie creator in his own right. When the maker of Volume and Thomas Was Alone pitches you a murder strategy game, X-COM meets Superhot, you listen. But really, only something this abstract (just look at the stark graphic novel art style) could let us mere mortals even approach the power of playable John Wick.
Since the game is out in a few days, panelists Mike Bithell along with composer Austin Wintory (excited for a change in genre after his previous “lonesome and vulnerable” music) and voice actor Troy Baker (talented, but of course) were really just having a good time. But we did learn some more details about this weird licensed game they can’t believe Lionsgate actually accepted.
Baker was relieved to learn he wasn’t being asked to play John Wick and inevitably get compared to Keanu Reeves (who didn’t appear at the panel, sorry). Instead, he plays the villain Hex, who kidnaps Lance Reddick and Ian McShane to rebel against the rigid rules of John Wick’s criminal New York underworld.
Considering how tightly connected the plots of the movies are, Hex is a prequel set during Wick’s contract killer prime. But thematically it ties into some of themes of the third movie. Bithell got behind-the-scenes looks at the production of Parabellum, for story points and for some sick reference footage of stunts.

Hands-On: ‘Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’ Lets Goku Soar at NYCC
I would say Dragon Ball is back, but it never really left. Still, it feels like Goku and friends are more popular than ever as the seminal shone manga has gotten a new series, new movies, and even a Thanksgiving Day parade float. Even me, a certified anime hater, can’t deny that Dragon Ball FighterZ was one of the best and most beautiful fighting games of 2018.
At New York Comic Con we got to try out an arguably even more ambitious Dragon Ball video game project, the upcoming action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. And it looks like Goku will soar yet again.
Considering how previous DBZ games have blurred the line between fighting game and RPG, I wasn’t entirely sure where Kakarot would fall on the spectrum. But while the somewhat wonky behind-the-back camera angle may recall 3D Dragon Ball fighting games like Xenoverse and Budokai Tenkaichi, the framework really is much closer to an open-world role-playing game.
The demo started with beautifully rendered cel-shaded Goku flying through a vast and gorgeous version of a typical Dragon Ball mountain range. You use your nimbus cloud or just Goku’s natural flying ability for pretty fluid movement. While traveling to my objective, I came across low-level monsters to quickly take out for experience, like in any other RPG. Instead of pulling off some elaborate combo, I just did some mindless punches and energy blasts with two buttons.
That was just a warmup for the actual rumble. Kakarot spans the entire Dragon Ball Z saga, all the way up to Majin Buu, and this demo featured one of Goku’s earliest battles against his evil Saiyan brother Raditz. It was during this battle, that lasted about as long as an episode, where I learned the intricacies of the RPG battle system.
If you aren’t blocking, you can freely fly around and just wail on Raditz with basic attacks. But to really whittle down his massive health bars, you’ll need to recharge Ki like an MP meter and use different abilities like the classic Kamehameha blast. The rhythm feels like a single-player MMO, where getting hurt feels inevitable so you just try to balance the damage you dish with the punishment you take, albeit with more dynamic fighting-game adjacent combat. It’s certainly more visually active than, say, Final Fantasy XII. It’s still Dragon Ball Z.
